Norwich University - any 2020 Rooks on here

Hey, I am highly considering Norwich. I am not for sure though because I am waiting on USAFA and USCGA. For SMC I am also considering The Citadel because I live literally 20 minutes from it, but Norwich has offered me more scholarships and I will have a full ride there. The two things that make me kind of iffy on Norwich though is the cold and that it also has civilians there.

My son is set to graduate Norwich.
I will say it is cold there. Great ice climbing, snowshoeing, and skiing.
I think it is stranger for the civilian students, they are a same percentage and it is very much a military school.
Very little impact on the Corps.
At all SMCs not all cadets commission. So even those in the Corps are focused on civilian aspirations.

I have visited several times, yes there are Civilians but the Corp is housed separately so it's almost like 2 separate colleges. Good luck to you!

Oh cool. I have never visited because I was supposed to go on April 3, but it was canceled. Best of luck to you!

If you have any questions about Norwich don't be afraid to reach out. Graduated and commisioned in '18
Thank you! We know nothing about Norwich. My DS applied because it is one of the top ROTC schools, but he hasn't visited. If he chooses Norwich, we will have a lot of questions so thank you for the offer!

Hi, my daughter is a graduating Senior in the Corps at Norwich in May and my son will be an incoming Rook at Norwich this fall. We’re from South Carolina and they both chose Norwich 1) to have adventures in a different environment rather than just going down the road and 2) to play sports at the D3 level. Neither are recruited athletes but they get to play a college sport and that’s great. The travel back and forth is a pain sometimes but Vermont is beautiful and Norwich is a tight group.

I was born in NC and my grandparents live in SC. I relocated in North East when I was two. I love Norwich!

Our son had happily accepted Norwich and NROTC scholarship. Norwich has been amazing with financial offers and scholarship as well as communication and one on one communication.
He received appointment to USNA and has since declined Norwich but it was not easy decision. We both felt forlorn when he declined. We had emotionally invested in Norwich and the family of alumnus and current rooks that provided so much information and support. Great network of people looking out for your kiddo.

Hi all,

I am 99% certain that I will be attending Norwich University next year and was wondering if there were any other future Rooks on this board.
Hey, I will be attending Norwich in the Fall 2020. I applied USAFA and was not selected for appointment. However, I received a 4-year Army ROTC scholarship to Norwich University. I visited the campus during my spring break, and I absolutely loved it! I cannot wait to be there!
