AMDG, you are now in the unfamiliar area, where you cant do anything for your DS, and, even when the time or thing comes along that you can and do do something, you will experience a difficult time, because your ds may listen and probably accept free help, but he will do so his way, and not necessarily the way that you think he should. Indoc is a learning experience not just for DS but for Mom and Dad too[emoji1]Hello, Everyone!
My son did not get in the Band company as he had hoped. Is there a way for him to request to switch?
Thank you!

With regards changing companies, not likely/common, but he would have to work through that with his chain of command if he really wants to try. I would say he will know what he can and cant do, and let him handle it without a push or prod. If he wants to explore a change he will have to figure it out.
Have your DS email LCDR Nixon right after INDOC and it will happen. It's getting OUT of Band Co. that's difficult.
Thank you! It is definitely his decision and we try not to sway him. I just know that he was very interested in being in the Band company and discussed not getting in that company with my husband when he was dropped off on Friday morning.AMDG, you are now in the unfamiliar area, where you cant do anything for your DS, and, even when the time or thing comes along that you can and do do something, you will experience a difficult time, because your ds may listen and probably accept free help, but he will do so his way, and not necessarily the way that you think he should. But, with that caveat, the pain in not getting the desired company should dissipate. By the time you have your first phone call my bet is your concern about band co far exceeds his, if he has any. In fact he may be happy that he is not in band co.

Welcome to Indoc
Thank you! What do you mean by the Band Company is the strictest company? I have this same type of comment made a few times.Hello, Everyone!

Not necessarily true. Switching between the 5 regular companies is unlikely. If he wants to go to Band to play an instrument, he just needs to talk to his CO and Lcdr Nixon (Band CO). That said, being in band is a lot of extra work plebe year and they have a reputation for being the strictest company to be in.
