Hey guys! I just have a quick question regarding the ROTC application process. I learned that I was accepted to West Point last week, however, I was not selected by the January board of army ROTC. I found this quite odd as I thought that USMA is more competitive than ROTC... Since I do have a great civilian school offer on hand, I was wondering what I could do in order to improve my ROTC application or if I could change anything on my application (or if anyone has any ideas on why they didn’t take me). I just want to have more options to choose from. Thank you very much for your answers!

The best POC for AROTC is Montana ROTC, PMS.

Congrats on WP. Great accomplishment. The AROTC Scholarship process is a national competition whereas the SAs are more regional. There are people every year that get appointments to the SAs, that do not get ROTC Scholarships.
As far as what you can do to improve your AROTC application - very little at this point. You have already been boarded and your application/file will not be reviewed again during the 3rd Board. You can upload a revised PFT or a better SAT/ACT, to increase your overall score. Any increase in points is minimal at this point, but worth it if you can improve on the PFT or standardized tests.
Take a minute to research the forum, this topic was discussed at length following the AROTC 2nd Board.
