Not Selected for SS - Now What?

As for the first question - whether or not to start a pre application for class of 2022 - it says in big red letters that if you already applied for SS, NOT to submit another application. Seems like the email DS got said to stay tuned for more information coming in June? Can anyone confirm that he should get some indication whether he is a candidate or not in June? Thanks!
My DS applied to NASS but wasn't accepted. If I recall correctly, he received an email toward the end of May, informing him that he was an official candidate for USNA and providing log-in information for the candidate portal.

We found 3 that are either free or low cost. Since DS is a scout, there's a $1,000 program available for $50. Princeton Review is free from a recommendation by his guidanxe counselor, and Khan academy is totally free for all.

Thanks my son is a scout too- will look into it. I appreciate your response. Thanks.

I did not get accepted to NASS. I received an LOA by October of that year and my appointment arrived in the mail on Christmas Eve. I wouldn't get too caught up in drawing conclusions from acceptance/denail to NASS.

DS did not get accepted to SS for this summer but did receive the log in information yesterday evening for 2022. Let the fun begin!

And the Fun begins and the great ride. Good Luck. Hope you see many Football Games and great Parades. Try to make one Navy/Army as a bucket list as thing to do.

Don't stress too much about SS, STEM, or CVW. I'm sure the secret recipe includes a mix of quotas to be filled, interest shown in the process thus far, and initial information each applicant posts for the SS/STEM application. DD applied for 2016 STEM and did not get in. At that point, USNA had her "on record," which is why I believe she got invited for CVW in November 2016 and accepted for SS this summer. Log in info came in yesterday, as well.

My DS didn't get in either, but he will be busy this summer continuing to work on improving himself as a well rounded candidate. He will continue studying to re-take his SAT and ACT (trying to continue improving his score). Working on Leadership activities by attending Boys State in June, football camp in June, and will be attending the Semper Fidelis All American Program and Battles Won Academy in Washington, D.C. in July. He was disappointed to not get in to the SS, but it doesn't change his long term goals, just one bump in the road, and he will continue pushing forward :)

We are from Washington. My DS (and husband, who is going with) are both so excited. I told my husband he has to take lots of pictures. Pretty cool you guys will be staying 2 blocks from the White House. What state are you and your DD from?

If you click the link in the email, it directs you to a USNA webpage. The top button says "Class of 2022 Apply Now". The lower button says "Continue your Class of 2022 Application". If you click on the bottom button, it opens the link to your USNA application portal.

Is anyone having security errors with their browser on the portal? We are here and with the NROTC app.

Texas We are super excited. They are sending a film crew down to follow her around for a day. They said she is finalist for Athlete Of The year

DS isn't going to SS, but he applied to GenCyber camps across the country, too. He has a concurrent enrollment college class, a 120 day SAT prep self paced program, summer weed abatement work and his Eagle Scout project. He also runs 3 miles every morning (plus CFA prep), and is taking Krav Maga classes 2 nights a week.

Summer isn't any less busy. Lol

:rofl::biglaugh:
