How are most candidates being notified that they are being appointed? I know of one candidate that received an email from his Senator. Is this typically? Thanks for the help.

There are tons of threads on this one. Some get a call from their MOC before their portal updates. Most just get the portal update, with an email to check it and then the BFE follows later.

I got notified by my MOC on the 6th of March by a phone call and email (because I was in class when they called and was unable to answer) and then I did not hear anything from either my MOC or Academy until the 13th when I received an email at 1:47 in the morning (AZ time) telling me to check my portal. I accepted my appointment almost instantly and sent in my Criminal Record Consent form the same day. This morning (14th) I got another email to check my portal and my appointee kit opened up and I’ve been hard at work all day. I was wondering how you would be notified a few weeks ago and from my experience, it’s pretty hard to miss when you check your email and portal almost daily. Hopefully that helped. Keep your hopes up!

Our son did not recognize the phone number, so he sent it to voicemail. The following morning he got an email notice about a change on his portal. Then he listened to the voicemail and it was our Congressman calling to congratulate him! Pretty cool voicemail for sure!

Does anyone know how long it takes to get a BFE? I received my appointment Feb 19th and have not gotten a BFE.

@usna28 , I got my call from my MOC the 6th, appointment the 13th, and my appointee Kit opened up on the 14th. No physical BFE if that’s what you’re asking. Hope this helps

My DS did not get a call or email from his MOC. He just got the email saying his portal had updated.

At the time my DD got her appointment, she had only the presidential nom on file so she didn’t get any call. She just got an email saying her portal updated.

Thank you for your response; the waiting game is driving me a bit nuts. Fingers and toes are crossed for some news.

I've mentioned this before but I think it is worth restating, especially at this time of year. DS and I both got a call from MOC the morning his portal was updated. The number came through as "Private Number" on the caller ID. So at this time of year, if you get a call from a "Private Number", "Unlisted" number or even an unrecognized number, ANSWER THE CALL! It very well may not be a spam call.
