Although it's still early in April, should we be expecting an answer within the next week? I am still on HOLD as of right now. I'm a recruited athlete so I am pretty confident, but at this point I know anything can happen! Trying to stay positive.

Hang on a little longer. You will have an answer soon. If you are a recruited athlete, you might try to reach out to your coach for information. Good luck to those still waiting.

This may help or not, but when the cycle was happening last year, they were handing out offers from now until about a week before Indoc started. If I remember correctly there was a good number handed out in the first 10 or so days of march because people were declining at the very last minute. I got my offer of appointment on May 8th of last year so anything is possible. Good Luck!

DS on HOLD too; nerve racking. Fortunate that DS received Plan B AFROTC 4-yr Type 7 and ARTOC 3-yr scholarships. ROTC and College signing day by May 1st......spose DS will sign and commit and keep fingers crossed for USMMA. Why can't SA's have their process done before May 1st?

    Thank you

We committed to A&M Corp in December to be able to choose orientation and. Housing. Would rather lose the $200 then not get either.

I may be wrong, but I know once the big check is awarded and you accepted it...that's final for the coming school year. My DS received a call for his appointment at 10am in school during exam. then he called me to cancel AROTC was coming to school to award his check at 12:45. I got the Army cancel before coming to his school. It took several days phone calls to Army office to cancel. DS write a letter to the Citadel to cancel enrolment. Its possible to cancel ... good luck

I do not think that accepting another school/ROTC etc. makes it final. DS had an AROTC scholarship and was at college (self prep) and there was absolutely no issues with leaving. BUT, I may be wrong! Best to check with the ROTC etc. as in each instance it might be different. :)

My understanding is that Principal Appointments are made through April. Appointments must be accepted by Acceptance Day the first week of May (not sure the exact date this year).

In previous years, there have been about 100 Principals who have declined or have not responded by acceptance day. A second round of appointments will go out in May to fill the declined positions. This can go into June.

Last year my DS was notified via email from the recruiting officer April 29, a Saturday, that he was accepted. The BFE came Monday. He accepted via email and by mail just to be safe.

My DS was fully qualified on hold for about 6 weeks prior to his appointment. I know how you are feeling. Once the appointment comes, get ready for the ride! It comes fast.

This is such a difficult process to go through...

I know... "hang in there, things happen for a reason, it will all be over soon"

Don't give up hope. Our DS was on HOLD status for awhile. Couldn't wait any longer, and accepted AROTC scholarship. Mailed our deposit check to VMI and had bags packed for Virginia. About a week later he got his appointment from USMMA. Hang in there....
