Notification of Appointment

Hi all,

I was just curious as to how things work. I know that some MOC’s call to notify their nominee that they have been appointed, while others simply get an email that their portal has been updated. If this is the case (regarding the email) do email notifications come out throughout the day? Or is it just in the morning/evening? Also, will portals be updated throughout the day or only at a certain time? I’m so eager to find out and trying my best not to let it consume me, but the anticipation is so hard!

The wait is definitely the worst part. Before I was appointed, I checked my portal more times than I would like to admit. The vast majority of all the automated emails I got from USAFA were between 4:00 and 4:30AM EST, but that doesn't mean that's the rule for everyone else. Days are slow but months are fast, you'll get your answer in time.

Ah congrats! If I may ask, when did you have everything completed? DoDMERB, received nomination, all such things. I had a Nov. 1 deadline, got nominated in early December, and just got medically qualified Friday. Trying to figure out a timeline I'll be looking at...
 
I got a call from MOC's office. Then, a few days later, I got an email from USAFA at 3:43AM. Note: This was a "conditional offer of appointment" upon getting my medical qualification.
 
Thank you! If I remember everything right I have been medically qualified since September, finalized my application in late October, and received my nomination in December.
 
DGS opened portal today, had received a congratulatory email from admissions for class of 2024 offer of appointment to USAFA dated 15 January 2020.

Checked phone after basketball practice late this afternoon. He had missed a call from Alabama Senator. Senator recorded a voice mail of congratulations and left his personal cell number with a request to call back when convenient. This evening DGS was smiling, calmly doing school work. The rest of the family was about to burst with joy and thanksgiving! He went to his room and retrieved an informational pocket folder for USAFA from the senator's academy night, placed in some school work and pronounced he could now use a folder with the academy's logo.

Not OP, but my deadline was Nov 16, I got nominated in early December as well, and was medically qualified on Dec 2. I just received a "the call" from my Congressman on the morning of 1/16. As many before me have stated, however, I'd caution against comparing one timeline to another. It varies for every person and you can hear anywhere from now to a few days before I-Day. Congrats! That is so exciting. I think I will just try and hang in there with the wait and try to stop comparing timelines. I'll find out eventually one way or another! Congrats again, happy for you!
 
Has anyone received a nomination from NJ senators or MOCs? If so, what district? Thanks

There’s a Nominations section in these forums. It helps to keep track on what’s happening specifically with noms. Anyway, to save you some digging - as I’m waiting in the same boat called NJ: senators did not send noms out yet. Several MOCs did - at least one report of getting noms from NJ7, NJ12, NJ3 and from NJ4.

Thank you for this information. I did not know about the other info. thread/section. We are in district 11. No news yet.

My DD received MOC nomination last week, we‘re from NJ District 10. MOC & Senators deadline to submit is 1/31. Hang in there.
