Notification of Appointment

DD appointment via email notification, like other posters in early am and portal letter 12/24. BFE arrived today 1/25 via USPS 2-day. Inside was a nice certificate and letter dated 1/17.

Do you have to accept your appt in order to receive a BFE or does it come regardless?

My DS received his LOA in December. Congressman didn’t hold interviews until mid January. About 10 days later he hadn’t heard from the congressman, but his portal showed Nomination Received. Yesterday the Congressman called DS at school to congratulate him. Today his portal offered the appointment. I think it was about 4 days between the nomination and appointment.
