Hello, I was notified on November 21 that a waiver was going to be pursued on my behalf by the admissions team. Since then, I have received no further correspondence via email, portal, or DoDMERB. Is this normal? Should I be concerned about this, and are there any actions I should take?
Thank you in advance for any guidance!

It takes time. Lots of info in the threads about backlogs especially as they get into the thick of admissions season now. We are waiting for info on a waiver as well, albeit ours didn't get submitted until late December. Our Field Force Rep said by that time, USMA was already hundreds deep in waiver review backlog.

Hi, do you have any updates? Have you been granted a waiver? I am in a similar situation.

I had a similar situation for USMA waiver. I contacted my DoDMERB case manager, and he told me anything over 60 days was excessive. He advised that either me or my regional counselor reach out to US Army Cadet Command. I reached out to my regional counselor, and he had the decision the following day.
All this happened in 48 hours.

Getting on that asap. Thanks!

No updates yet, but following FNBR's advice.
Though the "squeaky wheel gets the grease" can help with alot of situations when dealing with bureaucracy. Be careful in making sure you are just being "squeaky" and not "crazy loud". I think checking on the status with a regional counselor after almost 60 days with no contact is not being crazy loud. Understand that this process is not first in first out. there are a LOT of moving parts that a SA has to consider to generate a class each year. They may not have moved on your waiver because they are still getting your slate together to see if you are competitive enough to warrant a waiver, or it could be something that is completely different from this. It might have everything to do with you, or nothing.

My point is that the USMA admission notification date is April 15th. Yes you got notification back in Nov about them seeking a waiver, but you might be waiting till April 15th or maybe alittle later. It's great that FNBR got notification sooner, and hopefully you will too. Just understand that no news is good news, and patience is important in this process.

Everyone sees their cases take months to hear back on. 60 days, even 80 days, is in no way uncommon. Mine took ~60 days to hear back on getting a waiver for a sprained back once last year. Things as light as a sprained muscle and extreme as a crazy snowboarding accident all take roughly the same amount of time. I'm just trying to get through school and athletics and not worry about it.

I understand. Thank you for the advice!

60 days for notification of waiver or waiver approval? I could understand that 60 days for notification of waiver pursual is excessive, but not for a waiver decision.

85 days from notification to a waiver decision.
67 days from "Medical Waiver Initiation Notification" to a waiver decision.
Seems reasonable. Our DS was DQ'd 11/14 and didn't have a waiver pursued until 1/2, although we think it was in part to not having a nom until mid-December and he finally rocked a good SAT score in December...assume some combo of those factors bumped him up to get a waiver pursued. Now we are 20 days in on waiting for a request for either AMI or a determination by USMA's waiver authority. Just trying to play it cool and let the process work!

Mine was with an LOA throughout the whole process, so they might just get to you when they have the chance
