NPS Graduation gift idea?

I see it's been a while since you've posted, but I just wanted to ask if anyone ended up going with a custom ring or something unique from the NPS gift shop? I'm helping a friend brainstorm and curious how personal vs. practical people went. Did anyone gift something military-related that stood out or got a big reaction?

I got my degree there in the 20th C., and I told DH what I wanted: that we get our commissions, my undergrad diploma, his USNA diploma, our NPS diplomas, my other M.S., all beautifully multi-matted and professionally framed, plus his commissioning pennants from 2 commands at sea mounted, in a coordinated, visually attractive style. We’ve had them hung in different groupings, depending on where we lived. I still enjoy how nice they look.
