Hey all, I was just wondering what my scholarship chances are. I find out next month if I receive one, but I'm checking the portal every 10 minutes so I thought I'd ask.

Sat: 1490/1600
Gpa uw: 3.6
Class rank: 5/46
PFT: 55 pushups, 89 situps, 8:12 run(eh)
Mixed athletics, namely MMA fighting for 2 years
Lots of volunteering and work hours
Fluent Mandarin
60+ college credit hours (early college program so non-disqualifying)

BUT one pending misdemeanor charge that will be dismissed (but I know the Navy can see it:/)

Any input is appreciated!

The nature of the misdemeanor could be important. A simple disturbing the peace charge is going to be looked at differently than an assault.

Lack of a varsity team sport could also be an issue. You know already that the run time could improve.

Will you be a STEM major? That is important.

Test scores are above average, but I don't see any significant leadership positions listed. That will be a detractor.

Misdemeanor possession of less than half an oz of marijuana

I've gotten my run time down to 7:30 since the PT test:)

I will be majoring in Computer Science

Oh I forgot to mention I led my rock climbing team for a while and taught mandarin to a class of 22. I know it's not as great as varsity captain of a sport, but I hope it's enough!

Nice progress on the run!

The pot charge is probably not too bad. (my DS admitted one time use and still was awarded his scholarship).

As @NavyNOLA said, the leadership needs to be more visible. Get your titles or your counselor to support and verify your rock climbing and language leadership to admissions.

Have Plan B thru Z locked and loaded just in case. This could be enrolling as an NROTC college programmer or also pursuing AROTC or AFROTC.

Good luck.

Thanks for the responses!! I'll follow your advice and make sure my backup plans are set.
