My son, a MIDN 4th class, is trying to keep his options open. He seems interested in remaining technical. He is a chemistry major and has talked about the possibility of becoming a pharmacist. I know that there are Pharmacists in the Navy but all my Googling shows that they completed pharmacy school first, and then attended a 5 week ODS, which sounds like a OCS-Lite, and then commissioned as an O-3. Is it possible to take a different path via NROTC to become a Navy Pharmacist or are unrestricted line officers the only thing that will come out of NROTC?
