My son is filling out his NROTC/Marine option application and is stuck on the question of summer jobs. He does not work during the school year but wants to include his summer camp counselor job. The instructions say to record summer jobs in the Remarks box in the Employment section. BUT to get that box to appear, you have to indicate you also worked during the school year (see circle in photo). Any ideas how to get around this? Should we select the minimum category of hours and then explain in remarks that he didn't actually work during the school year? Ideas welcome.

I think your suggestion to select the minimum category and explain is sound. You want to include the camp counselor work and this wouldn't be the first time a government web-interface had a technical shortcoming. So long as the explanation makes it clear what your son did, I can't imagine the selection board taking issue with how you went about explaining things.

Thank you so much!
