Hello,

Due to my immaturity, I missed the first board review for AROTC. My Senior Naval Science Instructor in my NJROTC unit stated that I was very behind for both NROTC and AROTC applications.
I completed my Service Academy applications a few weeks ago for West Point and Annapolis and I admit I focused my energy more towards those schools than for ROTC. Now that I am done, I want to focus my attentions on NROTC and AROTC.
So far, the only thing I have left is my PMS interview for AROTC.
Somehow, my NROTC portal will not let me log in due to "suspicious activity". But I know that I am about 50% done.
How "behind" am I currently? When are the next board meetings for the two scholarship applications?

Thank you very much.
Dave

It's hard to tell. This is only a gut sense... an applicant with a 75% chance at 1st Board has a 50% chance at 2nd... that is for Army ROTC that has 3 Boards.

I think the same would hold for Navy ROTC as well.

The only way to make a later application have as great a chance as an earlier one is if your SAT went up a lot in the October 1 sitting... say from 1900 to 2100. Remember those early applicants have to use their SAT from last Spring.

Here are the dates for the AROTC boards, quoted from an earlier post by Clarksonarmy:

Let's see if we can get the board a little spun up. Contacted Brigade today to see if they had the dates for the AROTC boards for this year. Here they are:

17 Oct 11
9 Jan 12
5 Mar 12

Going to guess that 10 Jan is still the deadline to apply, and you will have till Feb to complete the packets.

Things to think about:
SAT test dates of 1 Oct, 5 Nov, and 3 Dec give you one shots to improve your SAT Score before the first board and three shots to improve before the second board. ACT dates are 10 Sep, 22 Oct, and 10 Dec.

Remember you need to send transcripts and test scores, conduct an interview, and take a PFT. Do some backward planning and you should be able to get before the first or second board.

I'll do a little more analysis on my blog later this week.

Hope this helps.
