Was this from your NROTC recruiter/liaison? Mine has been complete radio silence and the one time I spoke to him I got the sense he lost my application and materials. Seriously. This is probably the best news I've heard actually.Received an email that NROTC boards are delayed until November.
That's completely normal. The message your DS has now just reflects that all items have been received and processed, but no decision has been made. It does not reflect whether a board has even looked at it yet. It will remain in that status until a decision one way or the other is made. It could stay that way until late April. It's a nerve-wracking wait, more so for the parents that the applicants it seems. While you wait, check out some of the fun threads in the Off Topic forum to take your mind off the wait. It’s weird that my son’s status changed to all items processed instead of the original message If board didn’t meet. I appreciate you letting us all know though as I was going to start refreshing as of tomorrow. LOL
Seriously, DS is fine. He is like “Patience, mom!” Which I just laugh at because in 55 years, I haven’t mastered that one yet. Not taking bets that it will happen any time soon. But fortunately I”m busy so it helps. That's completely normal. The message your DS has now just reflects that all items have been received and processed, but no decision has been made. Or the bacon thread. That’s always a good one. So is the best covid meme thread. That's completely normal. Just for clarification for anyone who reads this, all NROTC scholarships awarded out of high school are 4 year. The only 2 or 3 year scholarships NROTC awards are sideload scholarships awarded to college programmers already participating in NROTC, but not yet on scholarship. And this post demonstrates that it may be late April before a response is received. Congrats to your DS. I hope he's enjoying his experience.I am not sure when my DS submitted for NROTC last year but he received a 4 year National Scholarship in late April 2020. He received an email and assumed it was a rejection but was excited to find out he received a scholarship and over the moon when he realized it was for 4 years. It's not over until you receive an official rejection.

My son is a Sophomore and awarded a 4 year National scholarship. College Freshman can apply for the 4 year if they are under a certain number of credit hours and I think it is 32 hours and under. It worked out great since my son’s program is 5 years.Just for clarification for anyone who reads this, all NROTC scholarships awarded out of high school are 4 year. Good luck to the applicants in the pipeline! Your messages regarding the status change also confirms that my DD did not get boarded for this round, although she submitted her application and completed interview by early June. The regional coordinator just wouldn't upload the provided documents. Then two business days before the deadline, DD was informed by the new coordinator that most of her documents were lost due to the staff change, so she rushed to collect the letters of recommendation from teachers and the statements from the Unit officer all over again. She did manage to supply all these documents again in two days, but the portal status still remains the same. From the summer through October, she also barely got any responses from her numerous Emails to the coordinator. It's so unfair to her. Wish you all the best in the coming board!
Good Morning.
My son emailed me a change in how his portal looks today. IT is more detailed but says “No decision has been made on your application” Is that pretty much notice that he was passed over this first board? Anybody else’s status change or have more info on their portal? Thanks.
No. It means exactly what it says. "No decision has been made". A decision will occur at a later date. If the board hasn't occurred it could be the next board or a later board. If the first board has occurred it will definitely be made by a later board. You may see this message all the way up through the last board.
Search this forum for NROTC ISR. There are a lot of threads about it.What exactly is an ISR candidacy in regards to NROTC scholarships ? How is someone notified if they are awarded this scholarship ?
Appreciate your leg work for me. I'm on it now. Like you said...there's lot of commentary on it. Today is the first I had heard of the ISR. I am reading all I can now.Search this forum for NROTC ISR. There are a lot of threads about it.
Sometimes the search function in the forum is limiting - I just tried it for NROTC ISR and you have to sort through a lot of threads- go to google and search NROTC ISR and all of the SAF threads come up.
I can only speak to my DS experience but he received his ISR offer immediately during his interview with Commanding Officer. Even though he had the ISR you still have to go through formality of Boards, wait for your status to change, go through DODMERB, etc...What exactly is an ISR candidacy in regards to NROTC scholarships ?
