Pensacola taking into account an academic major for a 4-year scholarship has been discussed, and it is noted that - unlike prior to two years ago - only 15% of scholarships will be awarded to Tier 3 applicants (and that includes the critical language majors). So, now the follow-up question. If a student does not get a 4-year scholarship (or, I suppose, did not apply for one) and nonetheless participates in NROTC and applied for a 3 (or 3 1/2) year college program scholarship, is his/her major taken into account? At that point has his/her major become irrelevant? Or, as in some other cirumstances (such as coming off a wait-list), do they make it available to a certain Tier only because someone in that Tier has dropped out of the program? Thanks for any advice.
