NROTC CORTRAMID

I went to SD for CORTRAMID the summer of 90. They did it after sophomore year back then.....stupid. It was a great month.....they let underage kids drink at the O club, bowling alleys, and bars on base. They also had beers for us at the BOQ. I flew A6s out of Whidbey, subs out of Pt Loma, Marine week was awesome! Oh, and a few nights and mornings in Tijuana....

My son, a marine ROTC student, did the same.....west coast. It was fun, but not like ours! East Coast sucks BTW.

Have fun.

my DS was notified that as a 3/c they will NOT be attending CORTRAMID next summer. it will only be for rising 3/C's

instead they will do a 2C cruise

Was there any mention of Sea Trials? A couple years ago the plan was to make it mandatory for rising 2/c, but most sessions keep getting cancelled, so I'm curious if it is going away after a very short lifespan.

My son is a Junior advanced standing. Are those the dates of the 1st class cruise?

Assuming he is Navy option, it should fall somewhere in the dates of on of the Phases 0-3 at that top, could be any of those phases. Staff usually try to work with mids to schedule dates that work best for the mid,, but no guarantees, especially now. If Marine option, look at the OCS dates.

Congrats to your son on picking up! All cruises fall into those blocks, so yes, first class cruise iwill be in one of those blocks. He may be reqired to go to Sea Trials, and may volunteer to serve as a MIDN Instructor at New Student Indoctrination (NSI).
