Does anyone know if the NROTC Board will be meeting this week, or this month for that matter? If so, what kind of time frame are we looking at for results?

Just the other day I spoke with my son's coordinator and it sounded like they were suppose to have met this past week. But at this point, I don't know what to believe anymore. I have to tell you, quite frankly I am very disappointed in the way things are going. Son is thinking about applying for AROTC now just in case the NROTC doesn't pan out. AFROTC deadline is past. I'm frustrated. Can anybody out there give me some encouragement??? If he doesn't receive any scholarship, I told him not to give up. He can still join the unit/detachments and then hopefully get one the next year. This is the fact, right? He wants a career in the military but I really don't want him enlisting b/c the boy is in top 10% of his class. He needs to get his education first!

Oh well, I don't need to get on a roll here....but you get my point.

AFROTC deadline is past.

AFROTC deadline has not passed and I don't believe it will until Jan 9th- plenty of time to get the application in.

In fact, recently sent in my AFROTC application so I could have more options on the table (other than NROTC). Also, AFROTC offers different types of scholarships that cover different ranges of scholarship $$$ so if your son is in the top 10% of his class, he might be able to pick up a scholarship even if it isn't the full tuition...just a thought

WestTexasmom....sent you an e-mail

jdalv2....i thought the deadline was Dec. 1. I figured AFROTC was even more competitive than Navy:rolleyes:

My son and I just checked the AFROTC website, hoping there was still time. It says that transcripts, test scores, etc. must be received by Jan. 8, but the deadline for submitting the electronic application was Dec. 1:frown:
