Hey everyone! I recently finished up my NROTC essays. I applied last year and was awarded a scholarship, but unfortunately, I had it down as it was non-transferable with my gap year. I was able to write some good college essays, but after not writing much of anything since, I am admittedly a bit rusty. I haven't had to write any other application essays since Yale does not require me to reapply to the class of '25! If anyone could take a look, it'd be greatly appreciated!

If you're able, and willing of course, to help I can pm you the essays, as I don't want my essays floating around the internet. I'm pretty paranoid about getting dinged for involuntary plagiarism!! Thanks

My gut says you won't get many takers. It has been mentioned in other threads-- we don't know you. The best essay is the one only you can write. It isn't boring, is concise and captures the reader's interest. It should answer the prompt thoroughly and not be wordy. We don't know you and as such, wouldn't be able to determine whether or not it was authentic. The people who know you best are your best option. They know your background, personal experiences and will be better able to give you feedback. An English teacher would be great for grammar etc. Good luck to you.

Unfortunately I've been out of high school for two years after taking consecutive gap years, but if not, I'd definitely pass it on to my AP lit teacher. Last year when I was applying, I had people on here review my Navy and Army ROTC essays and they were able to provide very valuable suggestions in terms of structuring, content, and concision!! With this, I though it might be good to have some people on here look at this years essays in order to help my chances of securing the navy scholarship again!

Props to you for reapplying. Shows grit.

Thank you! I hate to ask, but would you be willing to take a brief look at the essays? Even if its just one more set of eyes reading it, I'll feel a lot more comfortable submitting it as sometime one can miss certain things in their own writing pieces!

sent you a pm.

Are you looking for suggestions or feedback on grammar/spelling, or on content?
Mostly just feedback with regard to the structure and the way ideas are presented — I'm fairly confident in the content (grammar still needs some work as I haven't edited with that focus yet).
