NROTC Final Board Results Being Posted

Got so excited when I saw this thread. Texted my *no decision* senior who is working: Quick check your status!!!! Returned text: :-( Same, no decision

This kid would give a right arm for a NO scholarship. Oh well........

Same here:confused:....I just need to know either way already, so I can decide where I am going and start getting in touch with the school's battalion. Driving me and my parents nuts! :(

Does the notification of "wait list" changes for scholarship recipients continue on an "end of each week" basis as we move forward in the process? My understanding is that candidates have three business days to respond to the notifications they received at the end of last week and therefore the "wait list" is likely to change by the end of this week. Do these changes and resulting notifications then get communicated out to the candidates on a weekly basis or are they batched and sent out on a different timetable?

It is worked on a daily basis...It changes every single day.

Thank you for your response. Appreciate the update on how the process works. My DS has responded to the communications you sent out last week and look forward to the next interaction with your office. Thanks again for the extra effort to post info to this board.

haha I just realized P-Flying17 = Ms. Parker. If you see this, thank you SO MUCH for your hard work on the NROTC scholarship wait-list, and for making a high school senior's dream come true. That email gave a whole new meaning to Good Friday, and it was easily the most excited I've ever been in my entire life. I immediately accepted the open slot at Notre Dame; should I be expecting some sort of confirmation email? Or should I contact the NROTC unit at ND for confirmation?

Again, thank you so much!

Give it a couple of days. If the offer is there and you have responded accepting, then the spot is yours. The Freshman Advisor will begin working with you now. they will most likely see you as a gain (as soon as they are updated they roll to their system) before a confirmation is sent.

I love giving good news. I hate giving bad. :) I am so happy it worked out for you.

question???

My son's status simply says that it is awaiting processing. I just assumed that since we had heard nothing so far that he was out of the runnng, and he was preparing to leave for basic training. If there has bee no news at all, should we jst assume that he did not get an offer?

At this late date in senior year, I would pick up the phone and call people in the NROTC organization in Pensacola. Or, even call your regional NROTC recruiter (look online to see who these people would be) and ask them to find out. I think the results are out, and it is not fair to keep kids waiting.
