My NROTC Scholarship Technician called me around 4:00 PM EST to tell me that I had received a 4-year National Scholarship from the October Board, and my scholarship portal reflected this as of this afternoon as well. I assume this might mean all results from the first NROTC board have been released? I didn't see an NROTC-specific results/discussion thread, so I figured I'd start one here. Best of luck everyone and congratulations to all winners!

Question for any other scholarship winners that join the thread: have any of you been told what schools you have been awarded the scholarship to?
My portal reads "Congratulations! You have been selected for a National NROTC Scholarship Navy Option. Your scholarship has been placed at ___. Your host unit will be ____."

For NROTC, the award notice will be like yours, listing the school placement and host unit.

My portal says the same thing as yours "Congratulation! You have been selected......" and does not list a school or host unit either but I didn't receive a phone call from anyone. Do you think I really got one?

You'll receive a letter notifying you af the scholarship and the school(s) you may use it at. You will need to reply, as directed in that letter, within 30 days of it being sent. You will need to notify them of your school choice at that time. There is no downside to accepting as it's not binding.

Yeah, I'm sure you did. My scholarship technician only called me to see if I had received an email from NetFocus (which I have not). My understanding is that the website has been having internal server errors this week and he was checking to see if I had been notified. We supposedly should get an official email from and a letter in the mail in the next couple of days.

DS received same message on the NROTC portal without a school assigned. Glitch? I hope not!! Congrats @lsante and possibly all!

DS got the ISR so he hasn't been looking at the portal.. CONGRATULATIONS to all of you!
I am interested in the school assignment.

My DS also received same message on the NROTC portal without a school assigned. College acceptance decisions won't be announced before the 30 day deadline. Assuming his 1st school choice is on the list should he indicate that one even though he hasn't been accepted?

FANTASTIC!! So excited for y’all. Congrats!!

I remember each of my guys’ notice. It was a VERY ‘ahhhhh’ moment as it’s pretty sweet to have this in your pocket (for parents AND candidates) whether applying for other programs or not. For Navy, this is the first of the awards, to come through (mostly) May.

Congrats again. Let the appointing season begin 🙌💯!!

That is interesting about NROTC award notices not including the school and host assignment. When DS received his award, the portal showed this info, then the email notice had it as well. Other posts since then have all seemed to include this as well. Seeing as this is the first round of awards made, it should be a pretty safe bet that they will all be to the top choice school on your list. DS was in the same boat where he was awarded his scholarship prior to being admitted to the university. Scholarships can be moved to a different university relatively easily, so long as there is an opening for a scholarship mids at the gaining school.

Yes. He can apply to transfer the scholarship if he was not accepted at #1

Congrats to all of you!
Mine hasn't changed yet, and I know I cut it pretty close to the deadline for getting the application in for this board. Anyone know if they're still releasing the decisions for this one, or if I should just assume I need to wait for the next board to hear anything?
