I recall reading that for the academies there were certain immunizations that were mandatory. Does anyone know if that is the same for NROTC students? Aside from the usual ones for high school, I was wondering whether my DD is required to get 'optional' ones for hpv protection or any others?

At some point the Unit will let your DD know what is needed. I'm going back 4 years, but my DS needed to provide the university with documentation of all his immunization records going in. I think he also had to provide to the Unit. Make sure your DD requests a copy of records from her High School, it's easier than going back to physician. Anyway, he did have some of his childhood immunizations re-administered because they wanted the adult version of the immunization.

Believe DS got late word that he needed an aids blood test just prior to reporting to school but again, all direction will come from the unit.

I know my DS needed to provide an immunization record, a yellow card that I think is from the state department, but it was just a record of what he had had. There were no specific immunization requirements (by the way the card needed a doctor's signature). DS said he was required to get a flu shot in the fall during the school year and provide documentation to his unit. Again, I am not sure if it was "required" or "very highly recommended". I am sure at some point immunizations will be required. DS is in NROTC.

I don't think DS was required to get any immunizations until his first cruise... Norfolk to San Diego via the Big Ditch. I imagine the tropics had something to do with it... or maybe I'm just imagining it.

When DS registered for his new student orientation, there was a form on their website that he needs to have filled out by his Dr with all his immunizations. This was from the college, not ROTC.

I recall for our DS that the shots required were the exact same as the college, but he was AFROTC.
