Finish up your application as soon as possible. Essays are important. Officer interview is important. You will most likely take the "official" PFT before or after the interview.

Ancestors being a Marine doesn't really matter although they do ask. I suppose there's a point or two for it. They'll tell you who will write your recommendations... not your choice. You look strong but no one can tell for sure. Did you score that 285 PFT doing it the way you will for your official evaluation? Events in proper order with proper "rest" periods in between?

I didn't do an official PFT but I did get to 20 pull ups and had my lifting coach watch me to make sure I was doing them all the way. Same deal with crunches, 100 in 2:00. I also ran a 19:09 3 mile two days ago so that would make that 285 a 293 I think. Although this is obviously unofficial I am not cheating on these fake PFT's and make sure someone is watching me too to are sure I don't cheat. I assume they are pretty accurate representations of what I would recieve on the official PFT though.

That's not clear. It sounds like you did all the events individually. You need to do them all together in the order the PFT requires them in. The cumulative effect of doing them this way will reduce what you can achieve. Of course if I misread and you are doing them altogether, then you're in pretty good shape for starting out.
