My kid went through the 14-18 NOV 2022 board for the NROTC Marine Option scholarship (Region 6 if that is relevant?).

I would love to hear when anyone gets results from this board and how they got them or if you have insight into when results will be released.
This first board is the toughest and has the fewest selectees with everyone else automatically rolling over into the next board where the vast majority of scholarships are awarded.

I've been trying to gauge my kid's chances and have scoured this forum for personal stats to get an idea. It would be useful for this community if once you hear good or bad news you could post your stats.

I have not heard any Marine Option results but they tend to send out message traffic to units rather than emails.

The Marine Option sideload results came out and 27 College Programmers were awarded Marine Option scholarships.

Thank you. I saw your posts on the NROTC selection results thread and what an invaluable source of info you have been! It's hard watching your kids from the bleachers.

Very difficult watching from the bleachers. Hopefully this week. NROTC recipients were notified last week but not Marine Option.

Do they go to the schools to present the scholarship or is it via a phone call or email?

In the case of my DS, he received an email mid-April (2022) asking him to call his Marine OSO. He was told over the phone that he got the scholarship. Then at his senior awards ceremony mid May-ish, his OSO presented his scholarship and the big check. This was a total surprise to us, DS had no idea that his OSO would be there.

DS received 4 yr NROTC- MO on Dec. 8 via phone call. It was updated on the portal later. Bummed that no one came to his HS to present the "check" or to graduation where Army, Coast Guard, and USNA all had reps on stage and recipients called to stage with them but no Marine Rep to recognize the 2 students who received the 4 yr. NROTC-MO scholarship. DS's response was classic - "Marines keep a low profile and don't look for recognition." Good answer but Mom and Dad were disappointed nonetheless. Seems like it varies based on district.

Sorry, this was all last year of course. DS is loving NROTC-MO as a freshman at Villanova!

Last year on Dec 8th, the local Marine recruiter (SSgt) that my DS was working with showed up to his HS in dress blues to make the notification. About 4 months later at the end of year awards ceremony the recruiter, along with the Capt (RS XO), returned to school to present the big check.

The "Big Checks" were all done at our school the same day, at the Senior Recognition Ceremony. All services ROTC showed with "Big Checks" and the 2 USNA Students had their Appointment Letters read by a local NTAG Officer.

I just received a phone call from my Captain and I've been selected for the NROTC MO scholarship. Posting this to give everyone else around the time frame these things should be happening. Thanks for all yall's help.
If you don't mind me asking what region are you in?

Congrats!
Mind sharing your stats and region?

Son got a message today requesting we all come down to the MC recruiting station here in Salt Lake City this evening as his officer told him it’s really important. 🤞 Hoping and praying for good news. He applied for the NROTC MO. We are in District 8.

The status on my kid's application updated from "Your application is at the regional board" to the dreaded "No decision has been made" category and listed preferred colleges and stuff.
This doesn't knock him out for the second board but is disappointing.

Reading it closer it says "The NSTC Selection/Placement Office has received your application." Is this different than getting rolled over to the next board?

In the past, the online portal was notoriously unreliable - especially when mass changes were made. Hang in there.
