I received an email from a local recruiter basically saying that the application for the scholarship should be submitted by the end of september, but I'm not sure if that's just for the October board or in general. If anyone knows that would be very helpful. Also, the email gave information about processing day and it looks like the interviews and the PFT are on the same day, but I was made out to believe they were separate. Just a little confusion about the whole process. Any information would be helpful!

Interviews and PFTs are generally the same day. In fact, I've never heard of them being done any other way, but I expect there are always exceptions.
The web site says applications are not due until Jan 31, but if you can make it by end of September you should. There are only two boards and I don't think you really want to miss half of them, although you could.

Thank you! Do you happen to know the physical fitness requirements for females? I know it includes pull ups (or flexed arm hang), sit ups, and a 3 mile run, but I haven't been able to find how many and what times would be considered "good" or "competitive".

An end of September deadline would make sense for the Early Board. Each district runs their own boards, however, so that date may vary slightly among various geographic regions of the country. The real deadline if you will is 31 JAN, which is the last day you can submit the scholarship application online in order to be considered at all.

Thank you! So I'm unable to attend the first application day or processing day for the October board, but the officer said to still submit my online application end of september. Do you happen to know how often the processing days are?

rils: I don't quite understand your focus on the dates. Get your application done as soon as possible. You will fall in line for evaluation by whatever board meets after you submit and complete all the steps. There are two boards for USMC scholarships. One early (fall) and one later (spring). The advice you have been given is to get it done as soon as possible. That is good advice.

This is confusing. There is nothing you need to attend except the officer interview and the PFT. What are you referring to? If you feel comfortable and it's still relevant, why are you unable to attend?

.
My DS had his interview last Thursday, and his PFT is scheduled for Oct 7. Perhaps the difference here is, his officer interview occurred downtown, and the PFT is run at the recruiter's office in the suburbs. His application is expected to be ready for the October boards.

Makes sense.
