NROTC-MO April 1st New Portal Confusion

I am guessing that when 2029 applications opened on April 1st all of us still TBD for 2028 were sent to a new portal. The old portal always read "at Marine Board for selection." Now is shows differently - does this qualify as a rejection? For those who got turned down, did you also get an email letting you know? My DS has received no email correspondence, just the change in wording with the new portal. We're assuming it is a rejection, but not 100% sure. Any feedback would be great - thank you!

DS received news last month of his selection & today was the first day that it actually says *Congratulations " instead of "at Marine Board for selection". I'm not quite sure what you mean by old & new portal though. This message is from the application status link, right?
I would contact the recruiting officer to be sure, but yes, I think that is a turned down notification.

I was fortunate enough to receive it and mine says congratulations with further information on the scholarship. I still haven't heard anything from my oso or xo either but i'm assuming this is the way to tell. Best of luck with everything.

Thank you for the feedback! It’s just weird that it says “not selected for a scholarship” followed by “at MCD for Board Selection” but who knows??!!

Ours unfortunately reads the same, quite the setback for DS. I agree that it being followed by “at district for board selection” is very confusing. We also did not receive any email notifying us.

I am sorry to hear that you are in the same boat! Maybe more will reply to give us better clarity. It just seems weird that the timing directly aligns with the new portal log in. Hopefully we'll at least get an email to clarify. Good luck to you!
