Just a quick question for anyone who has insight into the NROTC MO Program. Does the Marine Corps still have a specific number of minority applicants they aim to put on scholarship? I read somewhere that in 2010 they were supposed to give around 99 scholarships to Minorities.
Thank you in advance!

Well I read on a different thread on this forum there will only be approximately 175 NROTC MO scholarships awarded this year for school year 2017-18, as compared to 900 NROTC Navy Option 4 year scholarships.

This is false. At the recruiting station last week the CO said there would be over 400 given out across the country. I have to ask who/where your source is?

I don't know the number of scholarships given out, but I can tell you that being a minority helps you a fair amount.

Only about 260 grads from USNA went Marine Corps upon graduation this past year 2016. The Marine Corps gets the majority of its commissioned officers from two sources nrotc and usna.
