NROTC Monthly Stipend Payments

What months does NROTC pay stipends? DD contracted in April and got 1/2 months stipend. Didn’t get anything mid-May and just got full payment yesterday. We assume this was the May stipend.

Usually every month but sometimes they skip months, and then they’ll backpay the months they skipped when they finally remember to pay it out. Pay issues are quite common in the Navy since they changed how the PSD stuff works. I remember a bunch of new ensigns got paid the wrong BAH for months after we moved to Pensacola and then we owed the government thousands of dollars from their mistake after we tried to correct it multiple times

Ya they sometimes are late with payments of stipend. DS has had to wait a few weeks a couple of times, but usually not super long. As with anything in a NROTC unit, how competent or timely the officer or person in charge of it at the unit makes alot of impact of how quick stipends are paid. When the person is on top of it, it gets done quick. If they are not on top of it or super busy, it can be more delayed. Just the way it is seems like.

So DD just got an on the spot side load scholarship and fully contracted in April. I realized the $375 she got on Friday was her second semester book stipend. Do they get a stipend in May if they only had a few days of classes? She didn’t get a stipend in May

Probably not, if you're worried reach out to the HRA, but even if you did, it would be worth only like 30 bucks. For example, since school ends for me early May, my May stipend was cut to 75 for that week and a half of school I went to.
