NROTC News

I just wore my service dress. He was pretty laid back, in fact, he hardly asked me anything at all.

Basically he gave me straight 5's and wrote extremely generous answers to the interview questions. He read his answers to me and asked if they sounded good. Then he used 2-3 lines writing "SELECT HIM NOW" in giant letters on the last question.

It was definitely different from the first interview.

Well, guess it couldn't have gone any better than that! Good luck! :thumb:

Kar57. Thank you for sharing your experience and all the best on your son's progression towards a NA appointment.
DS Status page changed about a month ago to
"Scholarship Selection/Placement System
Status Information for your 2014 Scholarship Application"
"Last 4 of SSN and DOB".

Assume this means the application is complete and under review? Your post just got us wondering, especially with last month's shutdown, to follow up with the recruiter that everything is in order. Know the wait is the hardest part! Any other candidates have/had this Status page with some insight?

Was curious, as another student applying for the NROTC scholarship with me had brought it up, can it be beneficial to send them any acceptance letters I may have to my choice schools? So far have been accepted to all.

Could be. Your best course of action would be to e-mail Pensacola with this question. My DD has contacted them a few times and they have been quick to respond and very helpful.

Good luck.

Orion- My son's page also displays the same as your son's. He had his application done last Spring/Summer. At one point it listed the colleges, and that nothing was missing. Then a few weeks ago he email the Navy to swap out his #2 and #3college choices after deciding he wants to go to a Military College. Since then it has what you currently see. Are you going in through the link on the Navy ROTC page that says 'check application status' at the bottom of the page? That is how we get to it.
I hope we are not supposed to re-create a new account through the regular application link since that says this - was not sure if that was for applicants that have everything in or just people in the midst of the process:

** Important Notice to NROTC Scholarship Applicants ***
Scholarship applicants who created their account prior to Nov 15,2013 are required to Re-register via the NETFOCUS Gateway. When Re-registration is 100% complete, you may resume work on your existing scholarship application.

Thanks
