Hi, guys!

Is the NSI schedule the same for every school or different schools have different NSI schedules? Do I have to attend all 3 cycles or just one? How do I sign up for it? And what are the things going on during that 2.5 weeks?

Hi! You only attend one session. I think they try to get as many from one unit in the same session but people have conflicts so they get you in where they can. You will be indoctrinated into the Navy ROTC meaning they will teach you courtesies and customs, you will do two PT evaluation, fire fighting, fire arms, swim qualification, and other training. You will have classes on the Warrior mindset. You will learn drills. You will get yelled at. You learn to do what you are told and do it with purpose. You will get uniforms and other gear. My daughter loved it and hated it all the same. She thought it was a great experience and is thinking about going next summer to help with it. Talk to your unit to get signed up.

After you accept the scholarship, you’ll get an email from NSTC with forms and instructions on how to sign up for a NSI session. You’ll need a physical with your doctor, proof of certain vaccines and a medical release. Easy peasy, mail it back to NSTC and they’ll get you scheduled.
