Hello , my DD is ready to apply early to NROTC that opens yesterday for HS Juniors. We have some questions, any help will be deeply appreciate, to make this in the proper way.
We know in order to be consider for first board around October, the faster the better to submitt application, but we want to know, if she fills the application now, can she send it as it is?, means withouth transcripts (her Junior year end in June), she is preparing for the Presidential Fitness test, still did not take it, want to do it around June/July to improve her times. So to be able to be consider for that 1st Board, did she need the online application with everyting done?, means Transcripts from 9,10 & 11 th grade?, plus Presid. Fitness test?, also we know she will go to and interview, is this part of the application?, how did she find where this interview should be?, any help, advise, ect is very welcome.

I would wait to submit the final transcript until her junior year is over. Get everything else done in the meantime if you want to be quick with submitting the whole application.

She will have to contact the closest NROTC unit around you to set up an interview. Nobody will call you to set up the interview, has to be set up yourself. I believe you will receive an email from your local NROTC coordinator with a list of places you can interview in your area.

Hope this helps

Thank you for your prompt response, I will tell her to find out where is her local NROTC Coordinator to have the list you mention. Did you know the school transcripts she need to send are from 9th, 10th and 11th?, and also did she need to uploaded to her application? or send it to somebody by regular mail?. Thank you.

Once she starts her NROTC application online she will be contacted by her regional NROTC Coordinator. He will be in charge of submitting the application to the selection board. I'm sure you will receive more information from him in an email once your DD has gotten underway with the application process.

You can also wait a bit on the fitness test until she is ready for it, but obviously don't wait forever. Getting in early is good, getting a good application together is better.

You're getting way too far ahead of yourself. Your daughter should start the application this spring/summer. At some point during the application process, or as soon as she submits the online application, a recruiter will contact her and help her collect her transcript, test scores, etc. They will also help arrange/schedule the Applicant Fitness Assessment and officer interview.
