I was just curious, as a SWO commissioned by NROTC, if I choose to stay in the Navy and make a career out of it, am I less likely to gain command of a ship than an Academy graduate?

No. Your chances are the same. Do well as a JO, go on to Department Head and do well and then get command. More to it than that like career schools, joint tour, etc. your chances are as good as any others via any commissioning source.

Literally the same as Academy grads! Like NavyHoops said, do a good job as a Divo and Dep Head. Basically, get fantastic FITREPS!
