Answer: Review the primary source material, see if it answers your question.

If you are at all uncertain as to whether you should report in shape, ready to go and what kind of impression you want to make in your unit, now is the time to get up and go work out. A pre-report workout program is provided.

Here’s a screenshot from the link above, from the section on minimum scholarship requirements :

If you receive the scholarship you will attend NSI in the summer. Two years ago, participants had to also pass PRT at school on Day 1 of NSO in order to activate their scholarship. This year, arriving participants who passed their prt at NSI in some cases at least were activated without passing again. It probably depends on the school unit.
Likewise 2 years ago arriving mids were told they weren’t mids until they took an oath with the unit in some cases . This year arriving mids at school at least in some cases were considered MIDN 4/C. It’s all pretty new so my guidance is “ just go with it” and definitely don’t correct your unit on the protocol for this. Just zippa your mouths shutta and follow orders for now. Haha. One way or the other you have to meet standards including the physical test in order to activate your scholarship. Good luck

My son just entered as a college programmer and he told me several scholarship recipients "failed" PRT at NSO and their scholarships won't be activated until they pass.

My son had to take his PRT, day one , before the scholarship kicked in and he took his oath.

He started at VMI a few weeks ago.

Good luck to you.

You have to pass the PRT for the scholarship kicks in. This shouldn't be a surprise.

Just as an FYI - not all students awarded the scholarship attended NSI. I know that's because of COVID - hopefully going forward they will be able to accommodate everyone. It definitely sounded like it was their intent.

And "zippa your mouths shutta" made me literally LOL. SO thanks for that. :)
