Hmmmm, Yoda is an image that conjures up elderly and feeble. While true, I have decided I am more like the Mandelorian. 😁

So, based on what happened last year, when the ISR records are reviewed by the board, they go on the same briefing sheet for review by Naval Service Training Command N00 (fancy way of saying the Admiral). Depending on the preference of the NTAG, they may wish to make the call or they may just let the general email go through. I can promise the notification will happen. Everyone wants to deliver good news.

I know this week's board has several ISR packages but I don't know how many. I also know they are on track to finish on Thursday afternoon and if so, then the Admiral might see the results early next week.

And completely separate issue, but in February some people will get the dreaded email stating they did not make it this year. There is still the option to walk on as a College Programmer.

Hope that answered some of the questions.
Any chance Alternates may get the delightful email saying they are now selectees or is it still too early? I know, Patience! LOL

From our recruiter regarding ISR:

“Yes, Student is being looked at on this week’s board. We are scheduled to debrief with the Admiral on 3 Feb so emails, congrats letters, and notification via the website won’t happen until Monday, 6 Feb at earliest.”

waiting…waiting…waiting….
This sounds like a more realistic schedule. Hopefully, someone looked at the Admiral's schedule before they committed her to a 3 Feb brief. She loves surprises 😐

There is a chance. And you could win the lottery. But I think mid Feb is more likely to start converting alternates.

Was wondering if someone might be able to provide a little clarity for us. The recruiter has been less than helpful or responsive and my son's package was submitted right before Christmas. He has been checking weekly on the NETFOCUS website where he submitted his application and the webpage has always shown the following
"Your application is at Naval Education and Training Command for final processing and selection determination."

We assumed that meant everything was good to go (yeah I know what they say about assuming... ;-) ) but now we are not so sure as we had missed that there was another NETFOCUS link for checking the status. On that page after entering his SSN and DOB, we see the following:

Application has been submitted online Your electronic application has been received and is being processed ...
Your application is at Naval Education and Training Command for final processing and selection determination. Selection decisions will begin in late August and continue until the end of April. Once a selection decision has been made, your new status will be reflected.

So can anyone help us understand if his application is good to go and went in front of the two boards in January? Or have we blown it for this month and are missing something without realizing it? I found one note on netc.navy.mil that says we should see "Board Ready" but not sure if that is correct or not. Thanks for any insight.

There were a large number of applications submitted over the Christmas break. The results from last weeks board will hopefully be out this week or very early next week. I am guessing that your package may be in the first board for February.

Thanks for the feedback. Based on what we are seeing online, is there anything to be worried about as far as the completion of the package? I would assume that we would hear something back if there was missing info. Is the recruiter the only POC for ensuring that all documentation has been submitted? Thanks again.

There is an email that can be used for application questions, and I believe that email was sent when the package was submitted. but just in case, the email is GRLK_NROTC_CGO@navy.mil. The recruiter would know if the teacher evaluations and guidance counselor assessment were submitted. Once all of that is in order, it is sent to the board, and the portal should reflect when it is sent to the board. Hope that helps.

Hoping for this week but it's been hectic herding cats to get things briefed to the Boss. And tomorrow is the application deadline and I can just hear lots of fingers on keyboards typing furiously.....so lots more work to be done.

For those of us *still* waiting on finalized ISRs, please tell me that we are JUST waiting on formalities and our kids aren’t going to get (for lack of better word) screwed. Thank you for all your insight and prompt responses 🙏🏼

I remember this feeling well. My DS was awarded an ISR in 2016. It was awarded early in September, but he did not get his official award notification and school placement until late November. For me, it was agonizing waiting. Wondering if he should say to pull his name from the ISR pile and ask to be put before the regular board, what’s wrong, etc. for him, he was calm and confident. Said it would all work out. This would just take a little time. Nothing to worry about. The confidence of youth who has not seen Murphy’s Law in action. In the end, he was right. He went on to have a great college and NROTC experience, is currently living his best life in Japan and just finishing his SWO qualification. I’ve watched your posts and related to your feelings. I was right there not long ago. Hang in there. It’s worth it in the end.

Thank you, thank you, thank you! What a wonderful post, your words are incredibly kind! Funny, my daughter has also remained calm throughout - I'm the one wigging out! And congratulations to your DS - Japan is a great tour.

Appreciate the response. I went back and checked and my DS submitted his application on Dec 7th and had his officer interview on the 8th. So it just seems like a long time for things to still not show "board ready" while also not receiving any feedback on what would be holding it up. Again, thanks for the time you give here on this forum. It is greatly appreciated...

Thank you, @ProudDad17 Our DS was awarded in early November, and nothing so far. As parents, we were concerned and wondering if he should be considered with the regular board and/or if was he missing this opportunity, as it is now February. DS said the CO said after his interview to wait for an email, so he waits.

Of course! I received an email at about 1 pm today notifying me. My portal had changed to indicate the award I assume around the same time, though I did not get a specific notification about that.

As far as general credentials go, I am a multi-sport varsity athlete, heavily involved in my community, National Merit Scholarship Semifinalist, and have a 1510 SAT. I got the scholarship for a Tier 3 major, and my GPA is 4.51 weighted. I have a significant leadership position in my high school's NJROTC unit, am the captain of my club swim team and high school swim team, and represent several thousand U18 swimmers in our local governance.
You sound very similar to me. Varsity Swim team captain, on a club team for the past ten years. 1520 SAT, NJROTC Company XO, hundreds of community service hours, National Honor Society, High Honor Roll, etc…
I haven’t been awarded a scholarship yet. I really hope I get one, I’m desperate to go into the Navy.

Our son was awarded a 4-year NROTC scholarship, Tier 3 major yesterday as well. To say that it was a good day in our house yesterday is an understatement! It has been quite a ride.

We have turned to this forum quite a bit over the past few months for guidance and general knowledge. I wanted to share a bit of his story to, hopefully, give future applicants some hope and to let them know that anything is possible. As we have read many times on this forum...make them tell you no. Not applying should not be an option.

His background: SAT 1190, ACT 24 (strong English score, 30). He submitted both SAT and ACT. Weighted GPA 4.2. 4 AP classes, rest honors. Member of Sea Cadets for the past 6 years, currently Chief Petty Officer and LPO of his division. Battalion Commander at his school. Class president for the past 3 years. Editor-in-Chief for the school newspaper. 160+ volunteer hours. JV and Varsity soccer. AFA results: 6:30 mile, 56 push-ups, 3:25 plank. Interview went really well.

We were worried because his SAT/ACT scores were not as competitive as you read on this forum and because he chose a Tier 3 major (not as many of these are handed out).

All of this to say that anything is possible. Work hard, put in the best possible application you can put in, get in shape and choose a major that you will be able to live with for four years (our son struggled with this but after reading many posts on here he decided to stick with his gut).

Go NAVY!!
Congratulations, and Go Sea Cadets!

Congratulations, and Go Sea Cadets!
Congratulations!
So it seems like some notifications go out ahead of a "batch" ... by what I've been reading I assumed this week would be when the last January board offers would be sent out. Or were the most recent board selections sent Friday? My daughter is in alternate status and basically I want to know if the dreaded "you're not getting it" emails are already out for February/where that darn cut line is....
