NROTC Scholarship Awarded

They aren't waiting or holding any up, but when it comes to moving alternates up the list they need to be careful with the calculations. Then you have to factor in as applicants say they will take USNA over NROTC, was that a tier 1 or 2 major? Because if it was, then the percentage has to get rescored. I don't envy the statistician team here.
when must USNA applicants make their decision regarding attending the Academy?

I am not sure exactly when USNA needs the decision by. I think they send out their decisions over the next month or so but there are some BGO folks here who can speak to that better than I can.

I was able to accept my scholarship and activate it via "NETFCOUS", yet do I still need to email in the "scholarship acceptance form" and email it in to be processed for NIS?

NETFOCUS should be fine, but no one at NSTC ever complained about getting an email in addition to NETFOCUS. The NETFOCUS portal sends an automatic update to your future NROTC unit on something called the "61 Report".

The email goes to a group email of Lieutenants who are arranging schedules for NSI. If you had a preferred NSI phase you could ask in that email. Just remember that it would just be a request and they need to fit people into phases as best they can.

Thank you. I will def send the email. it looks like I can only attend one session because my school graduates very late in June.

Reported yesterday that DD was one of the 1,200 privileged to be granted a NROTC 4 yrs scholarship. Got her first pick - Va Tech. Well, someone is looking out for her, bec today she got the email from Tech that she was accepted.

Bear needs three beers.

When asked for "your official ROTC scholarship offer", what exactly is that - the email received last week? something in NETFOCUS? something that comes snail mail? Just need to be sure we send the correct document.

Is your university asking you? You can forward them the email you received but in most cases, the unit where you are placed will notify the university and send them a copy of the 61 REPORT.

Congrats to your DD! My DD got her NROTC 4 year scholarship too and got her first pick - Va Tech! She also got notified on Friday that she was accepted into the engineering program at VT! YAY for these great girls!

So it just happened that the Admiral had a cancellation on her schedule which created a sliver of white space. The board briefing team parachuted in and the Admiral will be briefed shortly this afternoon. Assuming no issues it will take a couple days to put all of the final touches together. Hoping for news by Friday. I said that last time and word came out on Thursday. But chances are good that some news comes out this week.

Congrats to both of you! My son got into VT too! Still waiting to hear about the scholarship but he was a super late applicant, unavoidable due to a vehicle accident and medical stuff. But he managed to pass the AFA and get it all in so we'll see 🤞Maybe we'll see y'all there!

Is there a way to know which board you made it into? My son had all paperwork in the first week in January, but pretty sure he missed the first board. He was notified that something was missing 1/25. Does that mean they may have started review at the late January Board? or does that mean he would have been sent to the first one in February? He hasn't heard anything yet (tier 2), so either he was not yet reviewed or rolled to the next board. Just trying to figure out when he may hear something.
Status states the following:
The NSTC Selection/Placement Office has received your application.
Missing Items
All required items have been processed.
Selection Status
No decision has been made on your application.

Thanks for any insight :)

I have found out that NROTC got about 500 applications in at the end of January, so they are pretty swamped right now. Your son's application wouldn't be able to be eligible for a board until everything is complete, so your son's likely wasn't in until Feb boards at the earliest. There really is no way to know if it has been boarded until you are told. Best to just wait and see. If it did go into a Feb board, you will likely know end of this week or next week. It seems to usually take about 2 weeks after a board to get the notifications out.

The scholarship board processing team is accurately depicted here. This is their changing of the guard during peak season.....

Lovely! Just out of curiosity, and if it's permissible to say, how many people comprise a board review team?

The boards themselves are comprised of 9 separate Professors of Naval Science. No two boards are ever composed of the same team. And no specific PNS gets to vote on applicants attempting to head to his/her university. For those in the Navy who have done boards at Millington, Tennessee, this is very similar, to include signing a precept and agreeing never to discuss specific board deliberations.
