pmlutton...I live in Ruppersberger's district which had 8 LOA's so it was really hard for me to make the list, congrats to your son though, I know you are really proud of him. I already accpeted the NROTC scholarship, but if I get an appointment I can just write a letter to the NROTC office saying I decline because of the USNA.

Yes I applied to for the VP nomination

And thanks to all the support during this rough and long journey...I know I will become a plebe some time soon
Wheeler, very cool, yes you can "unaccept" the NROTC scholarship if you get USNA. Somehow, I think you still might! So I will keep the good thoughts flowing your way :)
When did you hear about NROTC? My son has the USNA LOA, but nothing from NROTC, isn't that weird? You didn't tell me if you also have an LOA or not...
Hey, we are all hear to support each other (did you go to summer seminar? which session)

We're in Montgomery county. Eight LOAs!!! What's in the water?

funny, I have no idea how many in carroll, no word from anyone, how did you find out how many LOA's? Hey there are a bunch of us in the chat room.

NROTC

Wheeler, There is no precedent for recouping scholarship costs for NROTC Mids who are admitted to the Academy.

When I went through BGO school one of my classmates was a former Professor of Naval Science, whose daughter had been on scholarship at his school and then applied and was admitted to USNA.

A key to applications from college, is that your college transcript, and if NROTC your COs recommendation, should be stellar and include Physics, Calc and Chem.
