My son put in a transfer unit request for his NROTC 4 year scholarship. The portal is updated as assigned to his new requested school. Will he receive a snail mail letter as well? Or, is it only shown in the portal? We want to pay college deposit etc.-I was thinking best to wait for an official approval letter but if it is all electronic - no point in waiting. Has anyone transferred in this scholarship cycle that can clarify? Thanks.

Last year when my DS transferred his scholarship, we did not receive anything snail mail, just the portal update. If you want confirmation, you could contact the Battalion at the new school and check to see if they have him on there roster for the fall.

No snail mail this year either, from what my friend has told me. He emailed his new unit to make sure they got it though, which never hurts.

Yeah I had to switch mine this year and I was only notified by the portal which was updated about a week after I put in the request.

JadeMom how long did the transfer process take? My DS is going to submit his transfer request on Monday.
Son faxed in the request on a Monday and his portal updated with the new school 2 days later on a Wednesday. Both his original and new school were out of state; he had admits to both. Good luck!
