Hello all,
I am an incoming college freshman and was thinking about applying for the NROTC scholarship. I haven't chosen the university yet, it is between two schools. One offers engineering and the other gave humanities, specifically Law and Justice. Is the scholarship directly for engineers? The wording on the website says that. Any input?

85% of scholarships go to tech majors. You can get one for a non tech major it's just harder.

What about marine option or Army ROTC scholarship? Do they care which degree I get?

If I was to choose the Marine Option, do I still need to major in engineering. Does he Marine Option care about what degree I have? The law and justice degree is in an in-state school, where the engineering degree is from an out-of-state school, so I'm just wondering before I make a decision.

The Marines do not care what your major is. My daughter has NROTC MO and she's an English major.

Agree with EOD/SEAL mom,

Air Force and Navy ROTC are HEAVILY focused on STEM majors.

Army and NROTC/Marine Option basically do not care what your major is. (Although Army is now adding some OML points to STEM majors for branching purposes).

I was just recently awarded the scholarship and I chose a finance major. Not really a big deal to them I don't think. Might carry more weight in other branches.

I am attending a private college on a 4 year scholarship, studying political science! While it is harder to get one for tier 3, it's not impossible!!!
