NROTC Sideload 2017

Does anyone know if they didn't give out as many scholarships as everyone was predicting? The unit told my son that they were giving out 92 nation wide so they were predicting 4-6 scholarships at his school, but instead they only got 1?

Also he had leadership roles at the military school he attended, and endorsements. IQ isn't an issue either.

Only 65 mids were offered 3-year scholarships out of 369 applicants. There were many qualified students who applied who were not selected. It's tough competition.

How many applicants went up for advanced standing and what was the average GPA?

I still have not heard anything back.
I know my GPA was a 3.6 as a political science major with Cal 1 completed and a 291 PRT, as for aptitude scores though I couldn't tell you anything

I am just wondering how good of a shot I had at getting picked up.

I was told by my unit that there would be 90 3 year scholarships awarded. What happened to that figure?

90 was the early estimate. Side load scholarships are driven by attrition in the program of national scholarship recipients. The initial estimate will end up increasing or decreasing depending on the level of actual attrition come summer.

Any stats for advanced standing this year?

Is there a posting of the Sideload stats for 2017 anywhere? It would be helpful to see how the numbers played out. Thanks
