(As always, I hope I break no rules with this post and apologies if I do.)

Recently, I have seen on the general ROTC forum that applicants to scholarships are seeing different statuses on their scholarship application portal. I have seen terms such as "boarded" and wonder if these are the same for NROTC. My scholarship currently reads "no decision has been made". Does this mean my application has been seen but not decided upon by the board? Should there be a "boarded" status there instead?

No. They are not the same. It is Army ROTC that says winner or boarded. On the NROtC side you just have to wait.

Hello Navy Nola,

Would my DD status changed to:

Pending Decision:
Application is being or has been reviewed by a Selection Board

last week since their was a board? If not can I assume she was not reviewed at the board?

Pending decision either means they're being boarded currently, or that they're been boarded previously but no decision has been made. Yes, there was a board last week. I'd expect results out middle to late next week.

OK, so my son's status page doesn't seem to say any of these things. All it says is:

The NSTC Selection/Placement Office has received your application.

Missing Items
All required items have been processed.

Selection Status
No decision has been made on your application.

I seem to recall a status about being prepared for the board, and maybe board ready in mid September, but then it shifted to this current status on September 19th.

@Bluenose89 your application is at NSTC and they have not made a decision on your application. You just need to continue to wait.

Since your application was submitted to NSTC in September, you can assume that it has been boarded and scored. You have not made the scholarship cut on the past boards, but the process continues and you are still in the running for a scholarship.

Continue to focus on plan B, C, D, etc. We did not get a negative reply on the scholarship until mid-April but were still able to execute on an excellent plan B since we were prepared. Good luck!

Thanks - that's what I suspected: good enough to hold onto until the full hand is available to evaluate I guess.

Yep, plans B, C, D, etc. are in the works - which involves choice of school.

And MichUSNA2021hopefulparent: sorry to hear on the denial. Congratulations on the AROTC scholarship, and good luck on the others / Academy.

MichUSNA, we are in the same boat...if your Army ROTC winner ends up at VMI, we will be definitely be friends...or at USNA...

Our DS' denial for NROTC was on his portal this morning. The wait continues.

-Does the commander at the unit where the scholarship was placed, receive the complete NROTC scholarship application that my DD filled out?
-My DD is speaking to a commander at a different school (very interested in her), but not where her scholarship was placed. If a another commander a different school wanted my DD's information could he access her application on-line or request it?
