Hey everyone.

I'm currently an NROTC 4/C Midshipman and my first stipend came through but it says the amount's $108.33 not $125. Does anyone know why this is? I was under tge impression that the stipend was tax free. Is this not the case anymore? Thanks for any insight you may have.

The stipend has most likely been prorated for the first period. Your stipend started when you began school, it probably was not a full pay period. Remember, you are only paid for the time your in school including breaks, just not the summer break. Payment starts when school starts and ends when school gets out. Your first and last stipend payment will usually be less then the rest.

And your right, the stipend is tax free.

Oh I didn't think of that. That makes a lot of sense seeing as how school started on the third. Thanks for the insight
