NROTC to USMMA advice

Does anyone have advice on transition from NROTC to USMMA? What are the processes and when do you have to DOR?

If you DOR before the end of the semester will you get billed for the tuition and room and board? Any advice would be appreciated
 
I would have your son email the Naval Science Department at USMMA. I assume they are working from home and can provide good guidance.
 
Not sure what you mean by transition from NROTC to USMMA. Did you get an appointment to USMMA and you're currently in NROTC? If so, you'll need to complete the semester of NROTC and report in to USMMA for Indoc (whenever that gets scheduled due to COVID-19).
 
He will be more than prepared. Most candidates have little to know military experience before arrival. Have him use his confidence to help out those that struggle- be a good shipmate. Have him bring ROTC cadences to indoc, it's more fun that way. College students can sometimes have an edge on direct high school transfers with the extra year of responsibility. It does not mean that they are better than anyone else though. Keep the ego down and the humbleness up. Congratulations, and best of luck.
