NROTC Waiver before NSI?

Hi everyone!

I received a 4-year NROTC Scholarship back in March and have been receiving different forms I need to fill out before reporting to NSI. I'm a little confused on the medical aspect of the forms. I received one disqualification from DoDMERB. I have been "Under Waiver Review" in my DoDMERB portal since January because I applied to a few service academies, and once I was awarded my NROTC scholarship, I was then put "Under Waiver Review" for NROTC as well.

Does anyone have an idea if you're still allowed to attend NSI without a waiver being granted? If I don't receive a waiver in time, what else can I do to prove that I am medically cleared to attend NSI?

Any insight or information that can be provided is greatly appreciated!

I've tried reaching out several times but it usually takes a while to get a response. I haven't gotten any information from the cadre at my unit yet about receiving a waiver.

My son is also under medical review status and has not gotten any update from the DODMERD portal yet. He is awarded the NROTC scholarship on March 23rd. Is there anything that he could do in order to attend NSI on the assigned date? Thank you very much for your help.
 
Your son, the applicant, can, if he chooses, follow the guidance provided above on Saturday at 6:02 PM, adjusted for him:wiggle:
 
Should be able to attend NSI, I went this past summer under a waiver review. Came back from NSI, and found out it had been approved.
