If the numbers are out can someone post the numbers on a more appropriately titled thread than this one? If possible can we have included the actual numbers of starting scholars ?Curious on the stats this year and how many scholars matriculated, in comparison to the number first appointed to the scholars program.

I'm not sure I know what your asking, but I sat with Mr. Pinch of admissions during the AIM parent lunch and he gave us the following numbers for what they are worth:

66 Scholars this year were sent to 3 schools (GMC, MMI, NAPS)
Think it was 10 to NAPS (new this year to send USCGA kids there)
8 to Georgia and the rest to MMI.
Mr. Pinch personally chooses where each scholars cadet goes

They were shooting for a plebe class of 305. They got 304 as a few decided not to come right before R-day.
8 had already separated by AIM week 1 and my AIMster spoke with a swab at Vespers who was being separated for an unknown peanut allergy.

Wow, it's too bad they started one low and then lost so many already...I know there's one gal who was waitlisted and would have given her orthodontically-straightened eye teeth to be there...however, she's gearing up to apply much earlier for 2021, and hopefully she moves from waitlisted 2020 to appointed 2021!

Wishing the best to all the current Swabs and the Swabs to come!

No you got what I was asking :) Thanks you answered a big part of what I was curious about. I was also wondering what the incoming class profile looks like for this year class of 2020.

That is very interesting about the scholars program. We heard there were close to 22 going to GMC. Our source was an email with 22 names listed on the address line specific to GMC. BUT only 8 responded back so far but 11 excepted the FB request. One other did not have a FB account. So maybe 12? Never heard about any getting sent to NAPs. When was the luncheon?

The last day of AIM, parents are invited to the robotics demo (abbreviated a bit as the gym is under construction), an admissions briefing, a FIT presentation (which has nothing to do with exercise), then a luncheon in the officer's dining room and finally a drill demo and graduation.

All the admissions officers and partners were at lunch. By the time we got through the line one of the few tables open was Mr. Pinch's.

That falls around the same time DD was getting the email correspondence. Could very well mean a couple backed out of scholars.

Hope your AIMSTER enjoyed the week. Although different than girl state my DD loved her AIM week.

Wow, that's very interesting information. Isn't NAPS the Naval Academy Prep School? CGAS kids will go to school with USNA preps? Did they ever explain why or how this decision was made? Also, 8 sounds so small for GMC. Did they explain the reason for that?

Do you happen to have any numbers for PFE scores too? Also, would you happen to know if CGA cares about sat writing score? My DD's writing score was actually the highest of the three, so I hope they look at it, but I think I saw somewhere that CGA Puts more weight on math and verbal. Am I correct?
