I recently received the Candidate File Qualified PDF so I know that I am on the NWL. I am still a little concerned about my chances of receiving an appointment due to my ACT scores. So, a little about myself...
GPA: 3.75
ACT Scores: Math-22... English-26... Reading-33... Science-25... Composite-26
I have not taken any AP classes
I am a NHS member
Sports: 4 years cross country, 2 years track. I made the state competition last year and hope to do so again this year.
I am in AJROTC and serve as the Battalion Commander. I'm also a Chief Master Sergeant in Civil Air Patrol and serve as the Cadet Commander.
I have attended multiple leadership camps for JROTC, CAP, and also the West Virginia State Police.

I live in the small state of West Virginia, but I am not sure how competitive my district is.
Also, my school and JROTC program has had 2 students be accepted to West Point in the past two years. Not sure if that helps though.

DS has similar low ACT scores with a good GPA of 3.96
English 35
Math 27
Science 24
Reading 23
Composite 27
The point is that I’m interested that you are 3Q as my DS has not been qualified academically (he passed CFA and DODMERB) he has not received the qualified PDF like you have. He attended a Cadet for a day visit in late February and had a meeting with an admissions officer who told him that he was very unlikely to receive a direct appointment due to his low ACT scores. I believe the Reading score of 23 is too low to be qualified, however if you are qualified with a Math score of 22 I must be mistaken. The admissions officer did say that DS would be a possible USMAPS candidate and since no TWE has arrived to date he is very hopeful of an offer to Prep. Good luck to you!
