Hello,

recently received remedial for asthma past 13th birthday. It wasn’t asthma, just bronchospasm after influenza. It was flagged due to doctor prescribing inhaler one time as a precaution. I never used the inhaler and it was a one time prescription. I completed a pulmonary function test and results came back normal. I do sports at a high level and never have had any issues besides the 1 ish month of minor wheezing post influenza. Again, pulmonary function test was completely in normal range. What are the odds I get a waiver? In process right now but just want to hear from people who might’ve been in similar situations. This is for Army ROTC/West Point by the way.

I had a similar thing happen last year where I had a bronchospasm and was prescribed an inhaler. DoDBERB flagged it. I got a wavier and sent them all information pertaining to the incident and I am anticipating them to clear it (i.e. wavier authority didn't ask for new information pertaining to the bronchospasm when I submitted). So hopefully you are in a similar case:)

Also, OP, you will get more appropriate DoDMERB responses by posting DoDMERB questions in the DoDMERB thread/forum. Let's hope this is the only issue and that it is easily resolved. Keep going...
