I'm applying to USAFA and completed my application in early December but my med status is still not determined. I submitted my final remedial recently and it's under review by DoDMERB. I inquired to my admissions team about whether this would affect my application when it is reviewed and received a response saying it would not since it is out of my control and they also said in the email that my "file has already been to committee and been reviewed so were just waiting on the medical aspect to complete your file". Does this mean they've already made the decision on whether or not to offer me an appointment; Or if they reviewed my file and decided to reject me would they even still wait for me to complete my medical status? Thank you in advance.

I doubt they would wait to get your medical status to reject you if they have already made their decision. If anything I think that means that you are competitive but they just need your medical qualification in order to move on and look at your application more thoroughly. It could mean that you are going to be accepted although there is no garuntee that that is the case. I am an applicant to the class of 2025 so I am not an expert by any means

I would just hold tight and check your portal daily to see when they mark the medical as received. Once that is received, you’ve done everything you need to do and the waiting begins

Anyone can let me know if whatever I said was wrong but that’s my opinion.

What at your stats? Just curious...
I'm assuming you're talking about my application in general

3.95 unweighted GPA; 1360 SAT (640 EBR 720 M); All advanced classes with 4 or 5 AP's; 4yrs involved with JROTC; 120+ volunteer hours; Varsity Soccer Captain and Club Soccer Team Captain; Pretty good CFA - maxed out all except BB Throw (85ft) and shuttle run (8.4) - That's the important stuff off the top of my head.

Oh wow, you're pretty competitive. My advice other than DodMerb would be to improve those test scores.

Thanks, and yeah that was my first time taking it, I wasn't sure if upping my EBR score would help much since the academies are STEM-focused and I got a 720 on math which is pretty good for me.
