Official USAFA Class of 2016 Appointment thread

DS signed and returned his acceptance form Wed Feb 8th. Academy received it on Fri. His online application now reads..
Appointment Status: Appointment Accepted
 
Please pray for our DS

I realize that everyone needs prayers for their acceptance letters right now. I am praying for all of you. Our DS learned that he will soon be reviewed for the medical waiver he needs in order to be considered. Without the medical waiver, the years of work, dedication and sacrifice will end. It is painful to know that the decision here may determine his future. He so much wants to attend the USAFA and is so committed to service to our nation that I hope you will remember him in your prayers too. Thank you all. This forum has been such a great help and a comfort. Congratulations to all the terrific and talented DS's and DD's who have already been accepted!

Batmom, I know exactly how you feel. Even though my DS received the BFE, it was only conditional with a medical waiver. Then his ALO said he has seen it take up until right before IDay to hear about the waiver. I pray for your DS and also whoever else is waiting on the medical waiver to hear very soon. I have told my DS that even if he does not get the medical waiver, he can still say that it was out of his control. There was nothing he could have done or not done to get into the Academy. This is such a trying time for all our children. Maybe it is testing them mentally (something they will need when they get into the Academy). My son has a classmate, who yesterday, got his BFE, CA01, Honorable Mike Thompson. These two also have another classmate who received his BFE for USMA December 2011. Our local HS will now have 3 outstanding young men newly appointed to USNA, USMA and USAFA, class of 2016. Not bad for a small town, I'm proud to say. Best wishes to all.

My son just received the coveted envelope today :biggrin: NY CD-01! We are keeping our fingers crossed for the rest of you.

I'm from CA-01 as well. Happy to hear Thompson gave an appointment already! Were you (whoever got the appointment) the principal nom?
