It's soo quiet. The waiting is making me crazy! DS seems to be handling it much better than I! Hanging on...

I know what you mean. It's been a long wait.
I was told my file would be going up on one of the last days, so I will be waiting another two weeks.

How did you find out when your application was going to the review board?

I simply contacted my admissions officer, and he let me know.
I did the same for USAFA, they didn't tell me the exact date, but they let me know around what week my file would go in front of the board.

Just think - this admissions angst will be over before we know it. Then we will all (hopefully) be anticipating the next deadline together!

TWE arrived today for DS. He'll be disappointed, of course. We have a nice Plan B in place. Good luck and congratulations to all.

The waiting game is good practice for the waiting games to come  There quite a few 4/c waiting to hear what they will be doing for the first half of their summer training. They too are anxious to hear what their summer will bring to them. :thumb:

Agree with usna1982! I was one of the people waiting to hear about 2nd phase...I just found out!

1st phase eagle to Ireland, Germany, and England and 2nd phase to....

Station Honolulu, Hawaii!! :shake: Living it up for six weeks in Hawaii!

My 2/c is extremely jealous...I am so pumped! Going to be the best summer ever! To the incoming class, trust me when I say that swab summer and 4/c year are totally worth it, these are the upsides to choosing to take the hard road!

Sorry to hear of the TWE; closure of one trail is the start of a new one. Best of luck.

DS also received the TWE today (strike two - USAFA was strike one). Is there still a chance at the prep school at this stage, or once the candidate received the TWE is that the end of the road?

TWE here too

DS received TWE today. He's very disappointed, but now it's on to Plan B. Best of luck to all still waiting.
Long Island Sound, GemStateMom, I know how you feel. All the best to you and yours -- Cindy

I feel for all that got the dreaded TWE. My son got one in 2008 and I thought it would be the end of the road. He decided to reapply. Happy ending in 2009 when he got an appt.

So....if it really is CGA or bust, I'd say give it another go! :thumb:

If not, then there will be a happy ending somewhere else. Good luck to all!

My DS also got the TWE (denial) today. I wish it would have said "try again next year". It sounded so final. Plan B is sending him to NMMI as a self prep. Then he will reapply to CGA next year.
Good luck to all you TWE'ers!

I agree that the TWEs had that "final ring" to them. Would be nice to know if DS was even remotely competitive, to know if he would realistically have a shot if he applied again next year. USCGA was his number one choice, and he is understandably VERY disappointed at this point. AFROTC was (and now is) his backup plan. Wish USCGA had an ROTC program!

Ditto!
DS plans to attend local university, take classes he would have taken at the Academy, and reapply. I wish we knew more too, because if he wasn't what they're looking for, I would hate to see him go through all this again!

Please keep in mind DS CAN apply next year after a year of college. Many cadets come in that way!
