Has anyone heard back from OH MOC?
It has been normal in the northeast quadrant, at least, that noms not be announced officially until mid December at the earliest. Some candidates have been told earlier, off the record that they would receive a nom, but that varies from year to year and by MOC.
My son received two nominations in the mail on Friday, one to USMA and one to USNA. Both were from Congressman Driehaus, OH-01
Independence, congratulations on the nominations. You are now one step closer to the final.
JUst letting you know that DS just heard from MOC and received letter in mail today for a nomination!! YEAH! Hope you hear soon as well. Feel free to PM me and I will give you more details if you want.
My son also received a nomination from our MOC yesterday! One more step complete.... now begins the waiting....
CONGRATULATIONS! onee & janike one step closer to the finish line.
Could you share the name of the MOC?
Congressman Mike Turner!!
Someone near and dear to my heart just rcvd a nom from Mike Turner as well!
Does anyone know when the nominations from Senator Voinovich are expected to be announced?
Given that he leaves office on Dec 31, it is reasonable to assume that his noms should be announced sometime in the next couple of weeks. As commented earlier, you can always try to contact his local office to see if they are at liberty to release the information. Best wishes.
I just contacted the Senator's offices and both offices have indicated that nomination letters are going out this week. Good Luck!
My son received a nomination from Senator Voinovich in the mail today.
Two weeks ago, my son received two nominations from Congressman Driehaus (OH-1) to USNA and USMA. Today in the mail, he received another USMA nomination from Ohio Senator Sherrod Brown.
To the best of our knowledge, all of these nominations were part of competitive slates with no principal nomination.
Does having two nominations to the same academy provide any advantage or is it just overkill?
According to one source the Senator's noms should be in hand about Dec 15th - if not delayed by all the snow.
My DS received nomination from Senator Voinovich yesterday. So it is true nominations letters are in the mail...
It could mean much if he's second on list A the NA can turn to list B. Likewise, it might mean little to your future Plebe but it could mean much to a fellow Buckeye. If another candidate appears only on list A, the NA can use that list for her and use list B for your son. The NA will make the decisions as it sees best.
I recieved a nomination to USMA from Senator Brown three days ago!
